Baccarat Payouts Chart: What Every Bet Pays and What It Costs
Standard baccarat payouts are 1 to 1 on Player, 0.95 to 1 on Banker (a 1 to 1 payout minus 5% commission), and 8 to 1 on Tie. Side bets pay more, from 11 to 1 on a pair up to 40 to 1 on Dragon 7, but every one of them has a higher house edge than Banker or Player.
Below is one chart with all of them, with exact 8-deck numbers, followed by a quick explanation of how to read it.
Baccarat payout chart for every common bet
Payouts vary by table, especially for side bets, so this uses the most common pay tables. House edge is the average cost per bet over the long run.
| Pays | Wins | House edge | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Banker | 0.95 to 1 | 45.86% | 1.06% |
| Player | 1 to 1 | 44.62% | 1.24% |
| Tie | 8 to 1 | 9.52% | 14.36% |
| Tie (some tables) | 9 to 1 | 9.52% | 4.84% |
| Player Pair or Banker Pair | 11 to 1 | 7.47% | 10.36% |
| Perfect Pair (either hand) | 25 to 1 | 3.35% | 13.03% |
| Dragon 7 | 40 to 1 | 2.25% | 7.61% |
| Panda 8 | 25 to 1 | 3.45% | 10.19% |
| Big | 0.54 to 1 | 62.11% | 4.35% |
| Small | 1.5 to 1 | 37.89% | 5.28% |
| Super 6 | 12 to 1 | 5.39% | 29.98% |
Banker and Player bets push on a Tie. Dragon Bonus has a sliding pay table, so I left it out of the chart. On the Player side it costs 2.65% and on the Banker side 9.37%, see Dragon Bonus odds.
How to read "to 1" in baccarat payouts
"8 to 1" means you win 8 and keep your original bet. Bet $10 on Tie, win, and you get $90 back in total.
Some tables print "9 for 1" instead. That includes your stake, so 9 for 1 is the same as 8 to 1. Always check whether a sign says "to" or "for". It changes the price of the bet by a lot.
Why Banker pays 0.95 to 1
Banker wins slightly more often than Player. If you leave out ties, Banker wins 50.68% of decided hands.
If Banker paid 1 to 1, players would have a 1.24% edge. The 5% commission flips that into a 1.06% house edge. A $100 Banker win pays $95, so you get $195 back, not $200.
A few tables take 4% instead, which drops the Banker house edge to 0.60%. No commission tables use a different trick, covered in no commission baccarat.
Bigger baccarat payouts don't mean better bets
A payout only tells you half the price. The other half is how often the bet wins.
Dragon 7 pays 40 to 1 and wins 2.25% of the time. To break even it would need to pay about 43.4 to 1. The 3.4 units it doesn't pay are the house edge. Every side bet in the chart is priced below its fair payout.
The Tie shows how much the pay table matters. Same 9.52% chance, but 9 to 1 costs 4.84% and 8 to 1 costs 14.36%. One unit of payout triples the cost.
If you want the formula behind these numbers, it's in baccarat expected value.
Do baccarat payouts change during a shoe?
The payouts are fixed. The odds aren't, at least not exactly. As cards are dealt, the chance of each result moves a little, and with it the real cost of each bet. Side bets move more than Banker and Player, because they depend on specific cards.
That's what I wanted to see when I started building Baccarator.

Baccarat payouts FAQ
What are the payouts in baccarat?
Player pays 1 to 1, Banker pays 0.95 to 1 after a 5% commission, and Tie usually pays 8 to 1. Pairs usually pay 11 to 1, and side bets like Dragon 7 pay up to 40 to 1.
What does a tie pay in baccarat?
Usually 8 to 1, with a house edge of 14.36% at 8 decks. Some tables pay 9 to 1, which lowers the house edge to 4.84%. Banker and Player bets push on a tie.
Which baccarat bet has the best payout odds?
Banker has the lowest house edge at 1.06%, then Player at 1.24%. A low house edge means a lower average cost per bet. It doesn't make any single hand more likely to win.
