Pick how many decks are in the shoe and the page works out the exact odds for the first hand: Banker, Player, Tie, plus 11 common side bets.

Every number comes from listing every possible card order and playing it out under the drawing rules. No sampling. Change a payout and the EV, break-even rate and ranking update on the spot. Tables pay differently, so set them to match the one in front of you.

Questions people ask

1. What are the odds of Banker, Player and Tie in baccarat?

With 8 decks, Banker wins 45.86% of hands, Player 44.62%, and Tie 9.52%. With a single deck it's 45.96%, 44.68% and 9.36%. The calculator shows every deck count from 1 to 8.

2. Does the number of decks change the odds?

A little for the main bets, a lot for some side bets. Player Pair hits 5.88% of the time with 1 deck and 7.47% with 8 decks. At 11 to 1, that moves its EV from −29.41% to −10.36%. Use the deck chart on this page to see it for any bet.

3. Why does Banker pay 0.95 to 1?

Because Banker wins more often than Player. If Banker paid even money, its EV would be +1.24% with 8 decks, so the 5% commission is what brings it back to −1.06%.

4. Which side bet has the lowest house edge?

With 8 decks and the standard paytable, Dragon Bonus on Player comes out lowest at −2.65% EV. Paytables vary, so edit the payouts and check the EV ranking. EV is a long-run average and says nothing about the next hand.

5. How do I know these numbers are right?

Press Run the check on this page. It shuffles real decks with separate code, deals 500,000 hands and compares the results to the exact figures. The 8-deck numbers were also checked one by one against published tables.
