Betting Banker every hand, the chance of winning 3 in a row is 13.02%, 5 in a row is 3.34%, and 10 in a row is 0.11%, with Ties treated as pushes. Player is a little lower at every length because it wins slightly less often. Every hand is close to a coin flip, so the odds fall by about half with each extra win.
Here is the full table, and what it does and doesn't mean for the next hand.
The probability of winning one baccarat hand
Banker wins 45.86% of hands, Player 44.62%, and 9.52% are Ties. A Tie returns Banker and Player bets, so if you leave Ties out, Banker wins 50.68% of decided hands and Player 49.32%.
That single number is the whole engine. A run of wins is just that chance multiplied by itself.
Odds of winning baccarat hands in a row
We calculated each streak two ways. In the first, a Tie simply pushes and the streak carries on, which is how most people keep score. In the second, a Tie counts as the end of the streak.
| Banker, Ties push | Banker, Tie ends it | Player, Ties push | Player, Tie ends it | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 in a row | 25.69% | 21.03% | 24.32% | 19.91% |
| 3 in a row | 13.02% | 9.64% | 12.00% | 8.89% |
| 4 in a row | 6.60% | 4.42% | 5.92% | 3.97% |
| 5 in a row | 3.34% | 2.03% | 2.92% | 1.77% |
| 6 in a row | 1.69% | 0.93% | 1.44% | 0.79% |
| 8 in a row | 0.44% | 0.20% | 0.35% | 0.16% |
| 10 in a row | 0.11% | 0.04% | 0.09% | 0.03% |
A rough rule that works: each extra win halves the odds. Five in a row is about 1 in 30 attempts on Banker. Ten in a row is about 1 in 900.
Every extra win in a row roughly halves the chance. There is no shortcut around that.
One shortcut people use is to start counting only after a streak has begun. That changes the question. If you have already won 4 in a row, the chance of winning the 5th is still about 50.68% on Banker, not 3.34%. The streak behind you doesn't carry into the next hand.
Does a winning streak change the next hand?
Only through the cards it used up, and the effect is tiny. Results on the scoreboard don't steer the shoe. We tested this directly over a million simulated shoes in baccarat patterns, and the chance of Banker after a long Banker run stayed essentially flat.
At the start of a fresh shoe every bet has a negative expected value. A hot streak doesn't change that, and neither do betting systems that raise bets after wins. Only the remaining cards can move the odds, and for Banker and Player they barely do.
The odds of a streak and the odds of the next hand are different questions.
Watch the real odds, hand by hand
If you have ever wondered whether a streak is "due" to end, it helps to watch the actual numbers instead.
After each hand you enter the cards and tap Calculate, and Baccarator recalculates the odds and expected value for Banker, Player, Tie, pairs and side bets from the cards still in the shoe. If a bet briefly turns positive, it shows a Kelly sizing suggestion. That only appears when expected value is positive, it is a long-run average, and the next hand can still lose. Positive moments are rare and short. You can choose 6 or 8 decks and practice with virtual chips, with no real money involved.
